About Teddy Bear Teacup and Toy Poodles, Q and A: Are Poodles Good With Kids and Retired People?

About Teddy Bear Teacup and Toy Poodles, Q and A: Are Poodles Good With Kids and Retired People?

1. Is your breed good with kids and retired people? Poodles are the #1 most popular family dog. With Teddy Bear Poodles quickly becoming the most popular. Most people think they don't look like Poodles at all. I have been breeding for over 30 yrs and I have heard more than once, usually from the man in the family, we are not getting a Poodle. Maybe it is because of the stigma that goes along with the weird hair doo for show Poodles or if it's just the name I don't know. But the miniature and Standard Poodles are one of the toughest dog you will ever own. With the toy poodle being the ultimate lap dog. If the Toy Poodle has not grown up around little children they might be sensitive to the fast movements or rough play of children, I recommend that you socialize your Toy Poodle from young puppies to enjoy children and not fear them. Let me tell you once you have owned a poodle you will never change breeds.

Now you can have the most intelligence, non-shedding, friendly, protective, loyal, easiest dog to train. Poodles can look like little teddy bears or in a more traditional cut will look more like a Poodle in the show ring.

About Teddy Bear Teacup and Toy Poodles, Q and A: Are Poodles Good With Kids and Retired People?

Many breeds have well-known behavior issues. Notorious or inherited genetic disposition's that can turn into destructive behavior which at least are annoying and may go as far as having to hire a professional behavior specialist for help. I have heard people say, is my dog ever going to grow up and out grow these bad habits? Poodles do not have any notorious/genetic bad habits. Some people refer to Poodles as having an old soul. They are wise and have good common sense from the start. Eight week old puppies are easily taught things because they want to please their owners. I often use the term people pleaser to describe my Poodles. Your Poodle will worship the ground you walk on.

About Teddy Bear Teacup and Toy Poodles, Q and A: Are Poodles Good With Kids and Retired People?

I have found male Poodles are preferred over females when it comes to families. Male Poodles seem to like everyone in the family equally. Sometimes females will choose one person as their favorite to lavish their love on. Females can also fight with other females where males seem to get along with everyone.

Teddy bear poodles can look like puppies forever. The Teddy Bear is a special clip that you can request from your groomer. There are many different hair styles that you can put on a poodle because of the type of hair they have.

You can't go wrong with the Poodle, if you are an inexperienced dog owner or have a busy life style with children the Poodle will be the perfect choice for you.

2. What is special about your breed? Poodles are the most intelligence, non-shedding, friendly, protective, loyal, easiest dog to train. Poodles can look like little teddy bears or in a more traditional cut will look more like a poodle in the show ring.

Many breeds have well-known behavior issues, often called the terrible 2's. I have heard people say, is my dog ever going to grow up and out grow these bad habits? Poodles do not have any notorious/genetic bad habits. Some people refer to Poodles as having an old soul. They are wise and have good common sense from the start. Eight week old puppies are easily taught things because they want to please their owners, and are intelligent enough to focus on their owners and what they are saying. I have 6 week old puppies that watch and listen to everything I do often turning their head intently listening and learning, they are amazing. I often use the term people pleaser to describe my Poodles. They really worship the ground we walk on.

The miniature and Standard Poodles are one of the toughest dog you will ever own. With the toy poodle being the ultimate lap dog. Let me tell you once you have owned a poodle you will never change breeds.

3. What Dog Group does the poodle fall in? Teacup and Toy Poodles are in the toy group. Miniature and standard Poodles are in the Non-sporting group.

4. What do you breed? I breed Teacup Poodle, Toy Poodle and Teddy Bear Teacup and Toy Poodles.

5. How much exercise does your breed need daily? Depending on the size and temperament of your dog, Poodles, as do all breeds need outdoor exercise, if for nothing else to mentally stimulate them. One to two 15 minutes walks for the smaller ones and up long distance bike rides for the larger ones, and anything in between.

6. Does your breed shed? No.

7. Do you train your puppies or dogs, any suggestions for buyers? My puppies are all house broken using a Potty Park before they leave. Many people don't have the patience or time it really takes to make the first few months of housebreaking quick and painless. So I do the training for you. If you are a first time dog owner, Poodles are perfect for you. Poodles are a people pleaser they want to be good and crave your approval. They are also a very clean dog.

8. Any notable predispositions with your breed? Poodle love everyone and are very smart don't let them out smart you. Next thing you know they will have you trained.

9. Do you offer any Certifications related to combat genetic predispositions? Yes, science has identified many DNA markers to assist breeders in breeding the common genetic disease out of the breed. I do genetic testing on my adult breeding dogs to ensure to the best of my ability that your puppy has no genetic health issues. You can read my Puppy sales Contract to see health guarantee.

10. How long have you been breeding? A little over 30 yrs.

11. How many litters a year, do all your babies get attention? It is very important, especially with the Teacup poodles and toy poodles that they are socialized properly. Each stage of their life from birth is impressionable. I try to do everything for my puppies, so they will be adjusted. They are taught not to bark for attention, to lie calmly in your arms when you hold them. They go for short car rides, they are used to going outside, inside and walking on different textures. They are surrounded by all the normal household noises. And most importantly the weaning process is done slowly to ensure they don't grow up with separation anxiety issues. I won't have too many puppies at one time that they can't all get the proper attention they require.

12. Do you Show, any events or activities? Yes I show in AKC confirmation classes and have many Champions. My dogs do therapy dog work in hospitals and retirement facilities. None my own personal dogs but many of my puppies have gone on to compete in obedience and agility trials. I even have some miniature poodles that can out hunt a Labrador Retriever.

13. Do you breed more than one breed? Yes I also breed Yorkshire Terriers.

14. Are all shots up to date when puppies are sold? Yes my puppies are current on vaccinations and worming.

15. Are your pets registered? My dogs are AKC registered.

16. Do you own the parents of the puppies sold, are they available to view? Yes I own the dogs I breed they are all considered my kids a part of my family. Most people request to see the parents. Which I appreciate a consumer educated and interested in the quality of the puppies, and where they come from.

17. Do you have a Contract? Yes my health guarantee and Puppies Sale Contract can be read online or emailed to you upon request.

18. Any guarantee? I have a complete guarantee. My puppies also go to the vet for regular well puppy exams. And you are given a copy of the vet report along with complete shot records. Please refer to my website.

19. Do you have any Client complaints not settled? No I am very honest with my buyers, to be certain they are getting what they want. I am not high pressure and never try to push a puppy on anyone. I have the best before, during and after customer service you could ask for.

20. Why do you think you are a 1st Class Breeder? I breed for the best quality Teacup poodle, Toy Poodle and Miniature Poodle possible. With great calm temperaments, correct confirmation, with beautiful thick curly coats and a gorgeous look. I do genetic health testing on my adult dogs to ensure they don't carry genetic diseases.

Buying a puppy over the Internet can be a scary thing to do. But from my point of view it is just as scary selling to someone I have never met or seen. I have sold my puppies to many celebrities that have come to my home to pick up their new puppies. I have many testimonials on my face book page, Little Poodle, and on my website. I don't think you could find a better bred, better raised puppy.

21. Tell us about your area where you pets are raised? My puppies are born next to my bed and many of them right in my hand. I consider my dogs my kids and they live with me like family, since I don't have any human kids. They are loved, cuddled, and allowed to play in the great outdoor every day.

22. Tell us anything you want, we missed? I can say that you will be totally satisfied if you get a puppy from me. From the quality of my pups to the no pressure sales approach, to the variety of puppies I offer. The best before and after purchase service you can get.

23. Do you offer any pet supplies, products or service, what? Yes here at my place I have some puppy supplies for sale. I also sell the Potty Park at a discount here and on my website. If you click the Potty Park banner link you will save .00. I also have a complete list on my puppies for sale page of what I recommend you get for your puppy before you get it home.

Thanks for the Interview

Kids Electric Ride on Toys

Kids Electric Ride on Toys

Kids love to copy people - let's face it that's how you learn. One thing my kids are always on at me for are bikes, cars and quads. It certainly does not help the line of work I'm in! To get them started off safely I would always recomMend getting them an electric ride on bike, scooter or car. The benefits are that they are much slower and lighter therefore the risks of injury are much lower. The other major benefit is they are silent so they will not annoy your neighbours or more importantly, you!

It amazes me the types of electric kids toys that are available and how realistic they look. Replica sports cars, scrabblers, road bikes, police bikes and quads you name it and they make them. Most of them operate on a simple electric motor run off a 12v battery which can easily be replaced as required. They come with a mains charger and the majority have solid tyres so you won't have to keep Mending punctures.

The only downside is that they really need hard surfaces to operate on for best results so unless you have a large tarmac drive or patio for them to use them on then your furniture in your house may be in for some stick!

I would still recommend that even though these ride ons are electric that you still get your child to wear some safety equipment such as a cycle helmet that can easily be purchased from you local Halfords store.

Kids Favorite Foods

If you're a parent, you know that getting your finicky kid to eat is like trying to push a bolder up a mountain of molasses. It isn't easy. A kid's Menu, at best consists of about five or six things that he or she will eat. So what's a parent to do? Well, at a recent survey taken in a small US town, about 100 kids gave the answer to their five favorite Foods, not counting desserts. While this survey no way dictates that all kids will answer the same, this should give you a pretty decent idea of what you're kid will eat if you're having problems getting Food in his or her mouth. So without further ado, our top five kids' goods.

Kids' Favorite Foods

Kids' Favorite Foods

Coming in at number 5 was no surprise. Spaghetti and Meatballs was the overall number 5 choice. Kids seemed to like this more out of the can than home made, however. And no fancy sauces like Marinara. Just plain out tomato or meat sauce was all they needed. Plus, no grated cheese on top. And not too many meatballs. Just 3 or 4 would be enough. Serving your kid a plate of spaghetti and meatballs would be more than enough to put a smile on his or her face.

In the number 4 slot was another Food that was no surprise. Hamburger on a bun was a sure winner. Again, nothing fancy as far as condiMents. No onions was big on the list of yucks. Kids absolutely hate onions and don't want them anywhere near their hamburger. Just some ketchup is all they require. And the buns have to be hamburger buns. No regular hard rolls and certainly NO seeds. Also, no whole wheat buns or rolls.

The third most popular meal on the menu was the hot dog. It was interesting to see that the hot dog was more popular than the hamburger, but not by much. As for how they liked their hot dog, that varied quite a bit. Some kids liked them just with mustard. Others preferred mustard and sauerkraut. And then there was that group of kids who enjoyed their hot dogs with ketchup. Nobody seemed to like relish or anything fancy on their hot dog and NO cheese dogs. That was another big yuck.

Just missing the number top spot and coming in at number 2 was fried chicken. Parents, don't bother making this at home. Overwhelmingly, kids voted on Colonel Sanders Kentucky Fried Chicken and white meat only. And don't forget the biscuit that comes with it. They said without the biscuit it isn't as good. Makes you wonder if they loved the biscuit more than the chicken. Oh and the extra crispy gets a big thumbs up.

Finally, coming in at number 1 was macaroni and cheese. Again, don't try making this at home. This has to be, almost unanimously, Kraft Mac And Cheese. And of course no mac and cheese dish is complete without pouring ketchup all over it. By the time they are done with the ketchup you can just about see the mac and cheese.

And there you have it. The top 5 favorite foods of children. So if you're having trouble getting your kid to eat, you might want to start with these. If you need other favorites outside the top 5, at number 6 was pizza and at number 7 was peanut butter and jelly. Rounding out the top 10 was bologna at 8, salami and cheese at 9 and grilled cheese at 10.

1960 's Toys

1960 's Toys

The 1950s brought with it some famous toys, the Frisbee, the hula hoop, and Silly putty just to name a few. But could the toys from the 1960 's top the accomplishMents of the 1950s? Let's have a look at some of the most famous 1960 's toys:

1960 's Toys

Hot Wheels-The husband of the Barbie Doll inventor, Elliot Handler invented Hot Wheels whist doing some experiMentation. It's funny how the most famous toys are discovered by accident. In the first year of release, Hot Wheels sold more than ten times more than what was expected making it to this day, one of the most well sold toys ever produced. The car's ability to conduct tricks was one of the main reasons why it was so successful.

LEGO-The famous Lego brand and toy was invented inthis decade. Lego has been one of the most popular toys ever and is still played with by countless millions of children around the world today-One of the most famous of 1960 's toys.

G.i Joe-The history or should I say, the beginnings of g.i Joe are not well understood with certain myths floating around as to how the toy was created. But regardless of that, g.i Joe was the first toy to be ever called an "action figurines".

Easy Bake Oven-One of the most famous toys associated and marketed to young girls, the easy bake oven was the first toy oven ever produced. It was manufactured by Kenner Products or now more commonly known as Hasbro. In the first year of sales, more than half a million easy bake ovens were sold making itone of the most well sold toys in its first year.

As you can see, 1960 's toys are probably even more famous than those manufactured in the previous decade.

Toy Ideas

One of the more common problems with mainstream toys is that they are meant to be used with two hands-often times children with cerebral palsy will have limited use of one side of the body or the use of only one hand.

Toy Ideas for Children with Cerebral Palsy and Special Needs

Toy Ideas for Children with Cerebral Palsy and Special Needs

Toys should be fun and children should have a feeling of accomplishMent or success when playing-not frustrated or reminded of what they cannot do.

Many of the commercial toys on the market can be adapted or used by children with cerebral palsy.

There are many toys that you can buy at any toy store or departMent store that are affordable and fun to use. Look for toys that can be used with one hand.
Musical instruMents are great for this-trumpet, harmonica, xylophoneor maracas. These also develop a sense of cause and effect with young children and help controlled movement with older children.

Magnetic type toys are all the rage and a big hit with kids of all ages-there are tons of magnetic toys available in many forms-magnetic jig saw puzzles, magnetic construction toys and magnetic marbles.

A simple ball is a lot of fun and great for developing coordination-get a neat ball that glows in the dark, flashes lights or play music when you roll it.

Toys or play that involve the senses will help with sensory integration development.
Sand and water are great for this. You can also fill a empty dish pan with uncooked rice-a great makeshift sand box for a rainy day.
A tipto avoid sand box mess: put the sandbox on cement blocks-will be at waist level and kids won't get sand in all their Clothes.

Toys that help with coordination and controlled movement are also a good choice.
Bowls filled with beads, beans or jelly beans are good for sorting, counting and grouping. Excellent for controlled movement.
Building blocks-simple wooden blocks, large dominoes for stacking also help with controlled movement. Also try empty milk cartons for stacking.

Play-doh is always a favorite-make your own play-doh and use Kool-Aid to not only color it but give it a fruity scent. Your child will be developing sensory awareness and visual motor integration skills as he plays.

Keep a box around filled with wheeled toys.Toy trucks and cars > of all sizes. These deal with non-verbal expression, problem solving and self-control.

Keep toys in site so your child can see what available-avoid opaque containers and lids. Baskets are great for this.

You can find many toys in local stores and make your own from even around your house without having to spend a lot of money on adaptive or special needs toys. Mainstream toys help with developmental skills such as cognitive awareness, controlled movement and coordination-and don't forget they are fun!

Stages of Play

Stages of Play

Stages of Play

Children go through different sTAGes of play as they grow and develop. Very young Infants only have the ability to attend to one object at a time. Once an object is out of their sight, it is quickly forgotten. Infants play by themselves because they are so busy exploring and discovering their new world. Every new object or situation that is introduced is a new learning experience for the newborn. This very first sTAGe of play is called "Solitary Play or independent play. They are fully engaged in gathering information and storing it for further use. This stage of play lasts until some where around nine months. This is a very self centered time for the developing Infant.

Stages of Play

Stages of Play

Stages of Play

Stages of Play

Stages of Play

The second stage of play begins to loam in slightly older children usually by thetime a child is two years of age. "Parallel Play" is typical of this age child. This kind of play involves two or more children in the same room. They are interested in the same toys and both see the toy as belonging to them. Hence they maybe in the same area and play with similar toys, but they do not play together. They are playing along side each other simply because they are in the same area.

When children extend their knowledge and play experiences they move into "Associative Play." In this stage, three and four year old children begin playing together but it is a loosely organized fashion. The more mature child soon emerges as the leader or organizer in this stage of play. They see themselves as capable and able to tellothers what to do, the younger child seldom questions this authority that the more mature child has cultivated.

Finally the child expands into "Cooperatives Play" somewhere between the ages of four or five. Cooperative play takes place between two or more children as they grow and develop socially and emotionally. Cooperative play In children , exchange ideas about the game or the toy they are playing with at that moMent in time. Rules tend to still be very loosely constructed, but children know who is playing which role in their game. Play may last only a few minutes or it may stretch out for longer periods of time. Gradually they learn to respect the property rights of others. This is a clue that they are gaining social skills; at this same timethey begin to understand that they need permission to play with certain materials and certain people. They are also more willing to share their toys for the sake of the game. Communication about the play is the critical point of cooperative play.

It is important to note that children differ widely according to birth order within their own families. Boys and girls develop in different areas at different stages of their life, so there is never complete adherence to any of these exact ages. Not all children move through the stages at the same rate, because children who have more life experiences tend to emerge as leaders or organizers at younger ages. Confidence, shyness, and other personality traits factor into these stages of play.

The Zhu Zhu Pets toy lineup is manufactured by a company called Cepia LLC. Since the inception of Cepia in 2002, they have focused their efforts on producing fun kids' toys that truly push the boundaries of technology in comparatively inexpensive packages. A few of their more notable toy successes include the bear, Glo-and Hydro Max and Sky Raptors. The launch of the Zhu Zhu Pets toys (often misspelled Zoo Zoo Pets toys and even Zu Zhu Pets toys) has really catapulted the company to the forefront of the kids' toy tables and quite possibly onto becoming the best selling toy for 2009. Currently, the model range only includes the hamster pets and their accessories, but with such demand, who knows what the' pet ' lineup will include in the future.

For those of you that are looking to buy Zhu Zhu hamsters, this Christmas or beyond, then you essentially have a choice of four main hamster varieties and one exclusive hamster toy currently. The fact is, there are so many different kinds of toys out there that it can be hard to decide which is right for your child. Not to Mention the fact that each child has their own personality, interests, and strengths. With all this is mind, how can you really find educational toys kids will enjoy playing with?

Let Them Test the Toy

It is important that you let your child test the toy out in the store first, especially if the educational toy is expensive. What happens if you buy an educational toy and then they don't like it? You may or may not be able to return it at that point. You can save yourself time and money by finding a store that has a good policy about letting children try before they buy.

Read Reviews and Ask Others

Another good way to find toys that kids enjoy playing with is to read reviews and ask other parents what their children like. There are certain toys that have an almost universal appeal. If you find several parents who rave about a certain product, it will likely work for your child. However, it is still a good idea to have them test it.

Work With their Personality

Another key thing to understand when looking for the right educational toys for your child is to find toys that fit with their personality. For example, if you know that your child does not typically enjoy electronic toys, chances are they still won't like the latest educational electronic toy even if several parents rave about it.

Test their Limits

Children like to be challenged. A great toy or game will challenge them in such a way that will build their self esteem and keep them interested. The right electronic game, for example, will build the challenge into the game. You win the game by learning new skills. The right toy will balance those two goals.

If you want to find educational toys that your kids will enjoy playing with, the best thing to do is have them test it out. Just because a toy will help them learn does not mean that they won't have fun with it.
